Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter with WPDE-TV. Later she was a morning-news anchor as well as crime reporter for WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. It led to the state government imposing more stringent guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. Her work in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor and investigative reporter as well as NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to she joined Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. Alongside her job as the lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and in addition contributes to Dateline NBC.
